Rio, it's a tale of happiness, where it's not unusual to see people start dancing in the middle of the street, where running in the heart of the city also means along the beach. It's the land of tropical rhythms, and ever-lasting parties nested between the infinite ocean and beautifully shaped hills. A paradise for the hiker, the surfer, the city-dweller, the dancer, the musician, and pretty much everyone else.

Carnival Time

Rio de Janeiro, known as the Cidade Meravilhiosa (marvelous city), is a multiple sides city. Full of surprises Rio is surrounded by white sand beaches, mountains, luxuriant rainforest in front of the deep blue sea, which makes it a cinematic destination. There is a wide gap between rich and poor. On the one side, the part of the city you are most likely to know, you'll meet one of the sexiest population in the world, chilling on white sand beaches or in the streets of Ipanema, Lebanon and Copacabana. On the other side Rio has its reputation of violence, mainly due to the on-going war between the police and the drug traffickers in the favelas, and the population of these areas. Despite the dark side of the city the Cariocas, inhabitants of Rio, would not change their city. They developed an art of living that as a gringo you can not match. They even issued a book about it,"How to become a Carioca", which teach you a lot about their way of doing !
