About Pagan

There are about 2200 Buddhist temples on the plain of Bagan, and it is mind-blowing to think that there use to be 13000! If the temple themselves are less impressive than the ones in Angkor, the view of the plain will keep you in awe for quite a while!

Traveling time: 26 hours

11 hours of train to reach Pyin Oo Lwin (long but beautiful scenery); then 5 hours to reach Mandalay; then 9 hours of bus to reach Bagan. It's better to spend 1 night in Pyin Oo Lwin and Mandalay
