Step 31/82: Vietnam - Mui Ne

About Mui Ne

The water here is less clear than in Nha Trang but this place is way more charming than its big sister!

You will have to hurry as tourism is growing at a fast pace and buildings will soon start to rise… but for the moment this place still is still very cool and laid back! As it can get pretty windy, there are many shops which propose Kitesurf and windsurf courses and rentals.

These are cool dunes and you will have a good time if you like doing jumps and flips! (the experience is less enjoyable if it's windy) The view on the nearby fisherman village is pretty You can park your bike in front of the many shops on the other side of the road (They will ask you to buy something in their shop on your way back, or to give a bill) and kids will try to make you use their slides

Some kids will tell you that you definitely need them as guides as some parts of the river are deep... it is not true so do not take a guide! It is quite pretty but it will not blow your mind! It will take you less than 45 minutes round trip.

Located approximately 30 kilometers north of Mui Ne, these dunes are less crowded than the orange dunes. The only downside in my opinion is the fact that you can rent a quad --> therefore it can get noisy. Rent a motorbike for the day to go there (the scenery on your way to go there is beautiful!)
Kite Surfing and Windsurfing 8 /10

Mui Ne is often very windy which makes it a great spot for Kite surfing and Wind surfing! A 5 hours course to get your certification will cost you 250 dollars... and the rental for one hour is also quite expensive!
