Step 44/79: Australia - Uluru

About Uluru

Uluru (Ayers Rock) is probably the most famous sandstone rock formation in the world. Holy to the Aboriginals and way to overcrowded by tourists. If you really want to enjoy Uluru don't book a tour. Get yourself a car and drive there. Otherwise you end up walking around Uluru (10km) with a big group of tourists. Respect the culture and don't climb Uluru as many ignorant tourists do.

User's opinion
My true highlight of australias red centre. Hike around the Olgas and take a break in the Valley of the Wind. I highly recommend to get of the track and climb one of the Olga hills to get the most spectacular view in Australia!
