Step 52/60: Malaysia - Miri

About Miri

Miri is close to a few National parks which are worthy of a visit... Unfortunately I didn't get to visit and see them at all. Since rain season was coming closer, it rained my entire stay here! All I saw of Miri was its public swimming pool and the park you have to cross to get there.

How I got here ?

Price: 20 €

Traveling time: 17 hours

A night bus (no sleeper bus). It was a long and extremely cold (11 degrees) ride! Everybody was trying to get warm, but the bus driver didn't want to turn up the heat! A few stops along the way.

Tips & Tricks

  • Bring a sweater, scarf or anything warm onto the bus! It might freeze inside!

User's opinion:

Very homey and the owner is very nice and motherly, which was very nice, since we couldn't really go outside due to the heavy rainfall. Free tea all day and the dorm to ourselves. Free wifi!

User's opinion:

Just a short walk from the hostel. This public pool has one olympic size training pool and a general pool. It's not forbidden, but you'll definitely get looked at when swimming in a bikini...
