They are stone slabs with fossils of snails in them...but it looks just like concrete. A bit dissapointing. Don't pay the 200 bath (€4.5) entrance fee though! Just before the entrance there's a small path on the right, going down. Locals take it too. Go down and make your way over to the left, you'll hit Fossil Beach for FREE after only 3 minutes of 'climbing' over the rocks!

Popular with backpackers! Good rooms (with huge flatscreen when taking the a/c room), nice food and 30 min. of free i-net per day. Friendly place! Often full though, so you might want to book ahead!
