Chiang Mai
Price: 29 €
Traveling time: 25 hours
Horrible shaky and cold/drafty nightbus from LP to the border. There we had to wait for over an hour to cross the border by boat. After that it was another 2 hour wait before taking a minivan to CM.Tips & Tricks

You hear different stories on Tiger 'places'. That they're all doped up... I did not experience that at all at the Tiger Kingdom. I took a combo-ticket: lions cubs and big tigers. The cubs were really active!! The big cats were lying around, but they do sleep 22 hours per day. They were moving with the shade... The younger cats were running around and we could've played with them if we had chosen that.

Pick-up is early in the morning by minibus. You'll go to a orchid/butterfly farm outside CM. After another drive you'll get out and hike your way (past a waterfall) to the elephant camp. You'll have lunch, then ride the elephants for 1 hour. Then the minibus will take you to the white-water-rafting place. You'll raft down coffee river and end the day bamboo rafting back to the van. Good, fully packed day!

This guy is funny! He'll take you to a market and explain certain veggies and how coconut milk/cream is made. Then you'll head to the kitchen. You'll cook a soup, a curry or something with chicken and finally a 'pad thai' (see huge flame!). You'll also get to taste a good 'mango&rice'. Finally you'll all eat together. You'll also get a cookbook to take home. It's fun and tasty!

A massive Waterfight!! It's Amazing! Songkran Festival is celebrated from April 13-15, but in bigger cities the Festival could last up to 7 days! Loaded with a water gun and buckets everybody tries to get everybody else wet! In Chiang Mai they clean the moat, so they can use moat water. Freezing ice water gets used as well! After sundown it's all more civil and you could keep dry if wanted. It's Awesome!!!

User's opinion: The best! This was a home and I didn't want to leave... It's an actual house with living/dining room and kitchen. They organize lots of activities (like with Songkran)! I loved it here!! Very homey!

On the top floor and the ground isn't that stable... You sit on the floor and it has a Bob Marley, Reggae, go with the flow feel to it. Very easy going...Good for a chill night out.

This is a good, cheap place to rent your motobikes. You do need to give them a 3000 bath (€66) deposit.
