- Expect a lot of closures for New Year's Eve (museums, hotels...)
Things to see
A very relaxing place, perfect to enjoy the sun !
It is one of the entrance to the path that will lead you to the Sensō-ji.
Temple at the end of a commercial way, full of people going to the temple for New Year's Eve.
Took place at Tokyo Big Sight, end of January. The place to go if you like mangas, all kind of them from the childhood manga to the trash/porn one. Also a good place to spot a lot of Cosplay who are here to be photographied.
The Yūshūkan is a Japanese military and war museum located within Yasukuni Shrine in Chiyoda, Tokyo. It is dedicated to soldiers dead for the Emperor, including some war criminals. This museum is a controversial matter in and outside Japan. We didn't have time to go inside but it is quite interesting, on a historical matter as well as for discovering part of the Japanese culture.
This is usually the place to spot sumo training early in the morning. It was closed when we went (New Year's Eve) but we still had the chance to see some sumos in the street, walking and biking.
Very friendly receptionist, always ready to help. He even found us a room for New Year's Eve !
Kojimaya bldg.B1, 1-22-8, KABUKI-CHO
A lot of tourists and locals in the same place, very friendly staff, wild word beer selection, good cocktails... And a crazy atmosphere. Perfect place to party if you don't know what to do !
Really fun to see, waitresses have different wearings every night and are really friendly. Nice atmosphere, you can eat and drink there. We tried a couple of them, all nice !
That is the place to be for the counting of New Year's Eve. The atmosphere was electric !
2-4 Maruyama-cho, Shibuya-ku
Way too crowded for New Year's Eve. Apparently a really good place to end the night the rest of the time.
