Step 9/18: Philippines - Batad

About Batad

Batad is a small village, like Cambulo, lost in the rice terraces. It is not easily reached as you have to walk there. Depending on which side you will arrive you can jeepney or a tricyle so that you will also have to walk half an hour. The advantage of this location is that Batad, like Cambulo, is really quiet. You will only notice the sounds of dogs and coqs during the night. It took us less than 3 hours to reach the village where we had dinner. We slept there. There are 2 guesthouses in Batad, which have the same prices. The one which is lower in altitude (100m below the second one actually...) has a restaurant a bit more expensive but much better.

User's opinion
The rice terraces around Banaue are Unesco classified as World Heritage Site. The Rice terraces of Bangaan are part of it. We couldn't walk there because it had rain too much, but even the view from the road was awesome.
