About Aqaba

Maybe the ugliest city of Jordan but on the Red Sea and at 1 hour from Wadi Rum. It is also quite funny from there to see Egypt, Israel, Jordan and South Arabia. You won't be surprised if you see fishing boats AND destroyers. If Aqaba has no particular history such as Petra or the Kings road, it is however a good place for diving and chilling out.

Tips & Tricks

  • As the city has no interest at all, sleep outside the city, on the littoral
  • For beers, by them dowtown. Diving clubs have bars but do not serve beer...

You will have to pay in average 35USD per dive. You may have a discount if you ask for ten dives but be sure that you won't dive in the same places even if you see always different things. I recommand you the japanesse Garden and the wreck at 20 meters

Some diving clubs will propose you a dive over a USSR tank. Refuse it and do it in snorkeling

You can ask to camp there if you don't need a proper room. They rented out fins and masks for 6JD/d (10 for 2 days...) C. 5JD for a meal
