About Lovina Beach
Price: 12 €
Traveling time: 6 hoursThe boat has to be followed by a 2 hours ride to Lovina Beach. Not very pleasant and people will try to make you pay way to much for the trip in the bus. Be carefull how much it costs for locals.
Tips & Tricks
- On the north coast it is only sunny the morning, get up early and enjoy !
- Don't stay there too long, there are other beaches in Indo which are better.
Things to see
Lovina is not great, but it is off the beaten track. People here are not the common tourists mostly backpackers in search of a little peacefullness. You can get a few massage on the beach or snorkling in a poor coral reef. Just stay one day there and then go roadtriping in Bali.
You have to do that ! Motorbikes are very cheap (about 5€ a day) the road are amazing and you'll be able to go where you would have never been otherwise. We started at 9am and came back around 7pm. We started in the north around Munduk and went straight to Pura Luhur Batukalu : An amazing temple, lost in the jungle with absolutely no body in it. Beware of the sunburns while riding !
When you are roadtriping take a few minutes to stop and see the ricefields. It is amazing and it makes somptuous pictures.
This temple is the perfect example of the lost temples you can see in movies. It takes a 4 hour ride to get there and another 4 hours to go back. It is also very hard to find so practice your question "where is pura luhur Batuka(r)lu" => Pura Luhur Batukalu ke mana ?" or you are really unlikely to find it.
Cheap hostel, not very interesting, and no breakfast....
On the main road outside lovina
This is where you rent your motorbike. We got 1 motorbike From 9 am to 7pm for 40 000 roupies, which is 3€. You also have to give your passport to get the bikes...
