Step 1/18: Indonesia - Jakarta

Jakarta photo by Kevin Creusy

About Jakarta

Well, Jakarta is part of those cities who grew too big too fast. It smells bad, it is crowded, and architects were obviously not too concerned about the overall esthesticall aspect of their buildings. Personnaly, I felt ill at ease in Jakarta, I had only one wish. It was to flee this city as fast as possible.

User's opinion
If you are stuck in Jakarta, just like us. You can go to the old harbour, it is the nicest (and most quiet) thing to do around here in my opinion. You have a chance to find a restaurant that will make you taste some good fish.

User's opinion
It is also a good way to use your time in Jakarta. Just spend one hour or two walking in the streets for a full immersion into indonesian culture. It is very unlikely to meet any other tourist.
