It is the symbol of Singapore. A mythical creature consisting of the body of a fish and the head of a lion. The fish part is symbolizing the traditional origins of Singapore whreas the lionhead refers to the original name of Singapore- 'Singapura'. It overlooks the Singapore river and is beautifully lighted at night. Go and visit late at night if possible- it will be less crowed and even more impressive.
