Valetta is the capital of Malta, a southern European island and country located in the Mediterranean Sea, 93km south of Sicilia. Valetta (or Greater Valetta) is a historical site thanks to the role of the island during medieval and antiquity times. It is worldwide famous for its marvelous walled citadel, churches, palaces and paved alleys. And despite its touristic success, Valetta has managed to preserve itself from mass tourism, making the city an ideal place for a pleasant stay.
