Tallinn

About Tallinn

Talinn is the capital and largest city of Estonia (413 290 inhabitants). Throughout the city, the German influence in the architecture can still be perceived, especially in the Old Town area (Lower Town and Toompea) which is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. As a result, Talinn is the European Capital of Culture for 2011. Since its independence (1991) and Estonia’s accession to the European Union (2004), transport from and to Western Europe have improved exponentially, making Talinn easily accessible to tourists.
